OLO Fragrance was founded in Portland, OR in 2009 by self taught perfumer Heather Sielaff. She studied aromatherapy for ten years before taking up perfumery as a hobby. The mountains, ocean air and temperate rain forest of the Pacific Northwest were the initial inspiration for OLO Fragrance. Hiking the trails along the Oregon coast is one of her favorite hobbies, and Heather strives to capture the essence of her favorite places, memories and day dreams with each new scent.
The Pacific Northwest is the perfect habitat for Heather. She prefers rain, clouds and fog over direct sunlight. The Pacific gives her a cleansing experience. Her love for nature and stormy weather makes tree resins, moss and wet dirt her combination of choice. It's those scents she tries to capture and blend into fragrances.
Each fragrance is hand-blended and bottled to order. OLO Fragrance blends contain fractionated coconut oil, essential oils, key accords and absolutes. OLO uses a higher percentage of natural ingredients compared to larger brands.
Fjord regularly stocks the following OLO fragrances in 9mL roll-on glass bottles:
Arboreta, Dark Wave, National, Palo Santo, and Foret
Arboreta: GREEN LEAVES - BIRCH - FIR - WHITE MUSK
Surrender to sleep and dream of wandering tree lined paths. Every turn reveals disparate shades of green, sunlight filtering through rain soaked leaves.
Dark Wave: CARDAMOM - INDONESIAN VETIVER - WOOD
Dark Wave was originally created for a fall event kicking off the dreary rains set to inundate Portland for nine months. The scent is meant to envelop you, to protect you from the downpour.
National: JASMINE – LEMON – ROSE – SANDALWOOD
Nationale is a gallery/shop in Portland. This scent was created in collaboration with owner, May Barruel. Like the old world rose soaps in her shop, it smells like a perfume from another time and place.
Palo Santo: PALO SANTO – SIAM WOOD – WHITE CHAMPA FLOWER
Palo Santo or “holy wood” has been burned by healers for years to cleanse, purify and protect the spirit. This blend is a modern take on energy clearing rites of old.
Foret: CEDAR – JUNIPER – PINE – VETIVER
Forêt represents all the forests I have ever taken a walk through.
